Lee K. Anthony was the Founder and the Head of School of The American Academy (1994-2013) and has lived on the Main Line for 35 years. The American Academy, a Classical Christian K-12 school, won the 2010 Salvatori Prize for Excellence in Teaching, awarded by Hillsdale College. In addition to Head of School, Ms. Anthony was also Guidance Counselor and worked on college preparation with American Academy students. As the mother of two military children, she co-founded the Blue Star Mothers of Philadelphia, headquartered at the Union League. Lee received her undergraduate degree with honors from Mount Holyoke College and her MBA from the Colgate Darden School at the University of Virginia. A member of Proclamation PCA Church in Bryn Mawr, Lee enjoys working on outreach to college students in the area. The Anthony family loves dogs and raised German Shepherds for The Seeing Eye for ten years. Lee is the mother of four adult children – including a concert pianist, a Navy SEAL, and MLCA Music Theory teacher, Scott Anthony – and grandmother of five.
