Christina Nicolosi
Admissions Director & Parent Liaison

Welcome! As Director of Admissions, I am delighted that you are considering Main Line Classical Academy and look forward to meeting you and your child(ren). At MLCA, we believe that education is about more than academic achievement. It is a moral enterprise that seeks to cultivate integrity, wisdom, and high character while providing a rigorous, intellectually rich education. I look forward to sharing our mission, our vision, and the values that make our approach to learning distinctive. Main Line Classical Academy draws families from across the Main Line and the greater Philadelphia region. Our doors are open, and we invite you to visit, experience our community firsthand, and discover what makes MLCA unique.

As soon as the school year begins in September, we begin accepting applications for the following academic year. Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis, and because enrollment is limited, we encourage families to apply by December 1 for priority consideration.

To schedule a tour or begin the application process, please contact our Admissions Office at admissions@mainlineclassical.org.

Common Entry Points to MLCA

  • Kindergarten and 1st Grades: Best entry points.

  • 2nd and 3rd Grades: Applications are encouraged. Students without prior French experience may be asked to complete some language catch-up work to support a successful transition, especially in 3rd grade.

  • 4th Grade: This is the year that Latin begins for all students, which makes it a natural entry point. New students start Latin together with their peers rather than joining after it is already underway. Students with prior French experience often adjust most smoothly, and individualized recommendations may be provided to help new students become confident in our curriculum.

  • 5th-8th Grades: Admission is considered on an individual basis. Because our curriculum builds year-over-year, students may need additional support in subjects such as French, Latin, or mathematics. At this entry point, French may be waived. We work closely with families to help students make the transition successfully.

ADMISSIONS PROCESS

1. FILL OUT THE INQUIRY FORM TO SCHEDULE A PHONE CALL OR TOUR

We encourage families to begin with a campus tour so they can experience Main Line Classical Academy firsthand. If an in-person visit is not possible, we are happy to arrange a phone or virtual meeting.

Once your inquiry has been received, our Admissions Director will contact you by email to arrange a convenient time. During your visit, parents will meet with our Admissions Director and members of the school leadership team. We look forward to learning more about your child while introducing you to Main Line Classical Academy. You will gain a thorough understanding of our mission, curriculum, scope and sequence, and school culture. Questions are encouraged!

2. FILL OUT & SEND IN THE ADMISSIONS APPLICATION FORM

After your initial conversation or tour, please complete the Admissions Application to formally begin the admissions process. Once your application has been submitted, our Admissions Office will contact you to schedule your child's student visitation day.

Complete the Admissions Application here.

3. STUDENT VISITATION DAY

We encourage every family to visit our campus whenever possible. If travel is not feasible or you are inquiring during the summer, we are happy to arrange a virtual meeting. A one-on-one visit will be scheduled for your child to experience life at MLCA. During the visit, your child will meet with our Admissions Director, spend time with our Math and English teachers to help determine academic fit, and join their current grade-level class for the day to meet future classmates and experience our school community.

Prospective Kindergarten students will typically spend a half day in the classroom unless otherwise arranged with the Admissions Office.

A $25 application fee per child is due on the day of the student visit and may be paid by cash or check.

In some cases, Main Line Classical Academy may request additional academic assessment or testing as part of the admissions process.

4. SUBMIT TEACHER RECOMMENDATIONS & SCHOOL RECORDS

Following your child's visit, our Admissions Office will contact you with feedback and the next steps in the admissions process. Transfer applicants will be asked to provide a teacher recommendation and copies of their school transcripts. For prospective Kindergarten students, a teacher recommendation may also be requested, when appropriate.

5. FINAL INTERVIEW

As a final step in the admissions process, parents will meet virtually with Principal, Frank Chilbert, and Director of Admissions, Christina Nicolosi. During this 45-minute meeting, we will review our Parent Commitment, answer any remaining questions, and discuss what it means to partner with Main Line Classical Academy in your child's education.

6. ADMISSIONS DECISION

Following the completion of the admissions process, families will receive an official admissions decision by email. Accepted families will also receive a copy of the Parent Commitment. To reserve your child's place, please reply to the email to formally accept or decline the offer of admission.

7. COMPLETE ENROLLMENT IN TADS

Families of accepted students will receive an automated email from TADS, Main Line Classical Academy's online enrollment system, with instructions for completing the enrollment process. Families applying for tuition assistance will also use TADS to submit their financial aid application and supporting documentation.

FINANCIAL AID

FINANCIAL AID

Main Line Classical Academy is committed to making a classical education accessible to families who are a strong fit for our community. We encourage every family to apply for financial aid if tuition would present a financial challenge. Through need-based assistance and Pennsylvania's Educational Improvement Tax Credit (EITC) program, many eligible families receive substantial tuition assistance.

Financial aid applications are completed through TADS as part of the enrollment process. Applicants will be asked to provide supporting financial documentation, including recent tax returns.

Financial Aid Timeline

Beginning in mid-January: Financial aid applications are reviewed on a rolling basis in monthly review cycles. Families will be notified of their award following each review cycle.
