Apply To MLCA

Welcome! We are thrilled about your interest in our school and eager to meet you and your child(ren). Our doors are open; we invite you to come in and discover MLCA.

The MLCA community comprises a rich variety of ethnic, national, cultural, and socioeconomic backgrounds as well as religious and political beliefs. What brings us all together is the desire to impart to children knowledge and love of some of the deepest, most exciting dimensions of Western culture.

A typical MLCA family is described by some or all of the following:

  • Loves serious literature and/or poetry and spends quality time together reading favorite books
  • Is excited about the depth and beauty of Mathematics and/or the achievements of Science
  • Values ancient and/or modern languages as keys to the treasure troves of other cultures
  • Identifies as history buffs and believes that a good education allows children to travel far and wide across different historical epochs
  • Worries that the standard school curriculum does not offer sufficient academic challenge
  • Values an academic environment that introduces children to Art Studio, Music Theory, and Theatre.
  • Is concerned about children over-relying on electronics for academics and socialization
  • Is seeking a wholesome, academically rigorous environment where children come to know and love the Good, the Beautiful, and the True

MLCA welcomes transfer students in all grades and spaces that are interested in our learning model and our educational philosophy. Whether your a first grade family or a fifth, we know the decision to seek a different schooling model is not easy, and we are here to support you through that journey.

Because of the variation of school experiences, admissions for 1st-3rd involves a little outside preparation to enter the school and students do best in proactive transfers to begin unpacking the rigorous content.

In 4th and beyond, we have tracks and support methods to create an easier onboarding experience; however, there may be initial catch up work required as well as remediation built into the day to support curricular mastery. Please note that the language requirement of French is waived from 5th on if this does not support the learner’s predilections, and the student will be enrolled in a 1:1 “Classical Core Canon’ during the language block to help ameliorate gaps and holes in curriculum, as well as showcase key anchor texts for a Classical education. For students interested in both French and Latin, a student may choose to take part in Introductory French elective to begin to gain content understanding.

Strong and committed learners can and will find a home at Main Line Classical Academy, and we are committed to supporting your journey forward through our curriculum.
