After earning a Masters Degree in Ancient Philosophy from the University of Paris-Sorbonne, Mr. Portier taught French Literature and Philosophy in Parisian high schools for 9 years. In 2012 he moved to Philadelphia, where he became a founding member and teacher of PhilaFLAM, a French non-profit that supports french-speaking students with high level French language courses that in some cases specifically lead to exams like the BAC, DELF, IB. For Mr Portier, teaching French is more than providing students with new tools, as it is a way to help students take root in French culture. He enjoys sharing his knowledge with students and opening their minds to a different worldview through this second language.
