James Jonas Hamilton received a BA from Harvard College in 1987, concentrating in Medieval European History. He went on to earn Masters of Arts and Philosophy in the same subject from Columbia University. In addition to teaching, Mr. Hamilton has worked as a Social Worker at Philadelphia’s Council of Spanish Speaking Organizations (Concilio). He regards the study of language and history as keystones of humanistic education, citizenship, and civility in the fullest sense.
